Do's and Don'ts

This list will grow larger as issues and fruitful advice come to mind:

  • Do use your own real information when registering for an incentive site.

    • Most incentive sites will verify crucial information during the registration process, do spot verification checks periodically, and verify certain information before you get paid.

    • The registration information will be the information the site uses to pay you and it will be where they find the information for shipping any checks or prizes you earn.

    • If your information is found to be fake then this may be considered fraud and it may subject you to being not paid, suspended, banned, and/or blacklisted from sites.  The sites have to protect reputation by protecting their sponsor's from fraud.

  • Don't register multiple accounts with incentive sites - double dipping.

  • Do read the Terms of Service ("TOS") of the site you are registering at.

  • Do read the fine print and the terms of service on ALL offers and surveys you are intent upon completing.

  • Do take the time to scan the incentive site's support forum to keep up on the latest news.

    • Don't continue at any site where the number of complaints seems to exceed the number of standard questions and compliments.

    • Don't spam the incentive site's forum with repetitive posts or advertisements for other sites.

  • Don't complete the very same offers at different sites or at different times.

  • Don't give out any personal financial information to any site that does not provide you with a secure page.

  • Do keep copies and/or hardcopy printouts of all emails and confirmation pages for offers that you have paid for.

    • Especially note any information regarding cancellation procedures and contact information should you wish to cancel at a later date.

  • Do register your phone number(s) (if so inclined) with the National Do Not Call Registry at:  https://www.donotcall.gov/

  • Do not give out your password to anyone, ever.

  • Do not use the very same password at multiple sites.

  • Do not use a computer or internet access at any public place to access your incentive site account (library, internet cafe, coffee shop wifi, etc.)

  • Do not allow anyone to use your personal computer to access their incentive site account.

  • Do not use anyone else's personal computer to access your incentive site account.

    • Incentive sites track user accounts by multiple means - if they discover that there is more than one member logging in from one computer then they may ban both accounts without pay.
